Finding Strength: The Coursease Guide to Bible Dependency
Hello Folks, how are you all doing?
I thought of naming this content as ‘the ultimate guide to Bible dependency’ but I would be wrong to name the title so because things which are ultimate to me may not be ultimate to you. I believe you would be gracious towards to read this article and I will be writing more related stuffs under this topic. I’d love to hear from you in the comments: What is the biggest thing that stops you from opening your Bible during a busy day?
Why Bible Dependency is More Than Just Reading
When we read the bible, we read some verses, maybe when we start our day with prayer and bible reading and then later we spend our day as if we haven’t read the Bible that day!
Have you been there?
We know the verses in the Bible is important. But on stressful day or during a difficult family situation, we tend to forget what we have read. We forget that Bible is the source of our daily strength.
This website provides you some Bible reading plans, however Bible dependency is not about checking a box on a reading plan. I would consider that we depend on Bible such way that we stop read it as some “information” but read it as God’s letter to us which need for our “survival”.
It is the practice of letting Scripture inform your decisions, calm your anxieties, and direct your path in real-time.
In this guide, we will explore:
- Practical Frameworks: Methods like SOAP and Inductive study.
The Core Obstacles: Why we struggle to stay consistent.
The Coursease Method: Spiritual Growth & Practical Skills: Our unique approach to building a “Bible-first” mindset.
The SOAP Method
If you want to move from reading for information to reading for survival, the SOAP Method is your best friend. It forces you to slow down and actually listen to what God is saying to you personally.
Here is how it works:
S – Scripture: Write out one or two verses that stood out to you during your reading. Don’t just read them but physically write them down. This helps “anchor” the word in your mind.
- O – Observation: Ask yourself: What is happening here? What is the main truth? What does this tell me about God’s character?
- A – Application: This is where Bible Dependency happens. Ask: “How does this truth change my afternoon? How does it help me handle the stress I’m feeling right now?”
- P – Prayer: Write or say a prayer asking God to help you remember this specific truth when things get difficult later in the day.
Coursease Tip: Don’t try to SOAP a whole chapter. Pick one or few verses. It is better to depend deeply on few verses to skim than three chapters and remember nothing.
The Core Obstacles
Most of us believe and know that the Bible is God’s Word. We know it’s important. So why do we find it so hard to read it every day? It’s usually not because we don’t care it’s because life is busy and we run into these simple traps:
1. Waiting for the “Perfect Moment”: We think we need a perfectly quiet house and a lot of time to study properly. But life is rarely quiet! Because we wait for that “perfect” time, we end up not reading at all. We need to learn how to find God even in a noisy or busy day.
2. Feeling Guilty about “Catching Up”: Have you ever missed a few days of your reading plan? Suddenly, you feel like you have to read 10 chapters to “catch up.” This makes the Bible feel like homework or a chore. When it feels like a chore, we start to avoid it.
3. Only using the Bible for Emergencies: Sometimes we only go to the Bible when we are in trouble or feeling sad. It’s like a spare tire in a car, we only use it when we have a flat tire. But our souls need the Bible every day, not just on the bad days.
4. Forgetting what we read by Noon: This is the biggest one. We read something good in the morning, but by the time we get to work or start our chores, we’ve completely forgotten it. There is a gap between reading the words and actually using them when we get stressed later in the day.
The Coursease Method: Spiritual Growth & Practical Skills
The reason I started Coursease is simple: I want to make it easy for Christians to grow.
In the world today, we face two big pressures:
Finding time to really know God’s Word.
Finding ways to provide for our families and be self-employed.
The Coursease Method brings these two things together. We believe that when you depend on the Bible, you get the wisdom and peace you need to work hard and run a business.
What we offer to help you:
Bible Study Courses: Simple, step-by-step guides (like the SOAP method) that don’t take hours but change your whole day.
Skill-Based Learning: Easy-to-follow courses to help you become self-employed and use the talents God gave you.
Curated Resources: We provide links to the best books and tools so you don’t have to spend hours searching for what to study next.
Our goal is to help you move away from “stressful living” and move into a life where you are spiritually fed and professionally independent.
